2. Scope & Definitions

This Privacy Policy applies to all services under zerlo.net (including /en/, /en/tools, /en/web, and the login area). "Personal Data" means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.

3. Collection and Processing of Personal Data

3.1 Server Log Files

For purely informational use, we automatically collect technical data in server log files: IP address, date/time, requested URL, data volume, referrer, browser and operating system type. Purpose: Operation, security, and optimization of the website.

3.2 Registration & Login

For the use of our AI tools and the editor, we collect:

  • First and last name
  • Email address
  • Password (encrypted)

Optionally, registration can be done via Google. Then we only receive a user ID and approved profile data. Legal basis: Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR (contract fulfillment).

3.3 Contact Form

When sending messages via the form, we collect name, email, and your inquiry. Purpose: Processing your message. Legal basis: Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR.

4. Cookies & Tracking

We use:

  • Necessary Cookies for session management.
  • Analytics Cookies (e.g., Google Analytics with IP masking).
  • Marketing Cookies from third parties only with consent.

You can refuse cookies at any time via the banner or delete them in your browser.

5. Hosting & Data Storage

  • Hosting in Switzerland
  • Server logs: max. 30 days
  • Account data: until the account is deleted
  • Contact inquiries: processing + 6-month documentation

6. Disclosure & Third Parties

We only disclose your data if:

  • You have given your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR),
  • It is necessary for the contract (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR),
  • We are legally obliged to do so (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR),
  • Or legitimate interests prevail (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR).

Examples: Hosting providers, support partners, payment service providers (all legally obligated regarding data protection).

7. Your Data Protection Rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), deletion (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), and data portability (Art. 20). You can revoke consents at any time (Art. 7 para. 3). The cantonal Data Protection Authority of Aargau is available for complaints.

8. Changes to the Privacy Policy

We will adjust this policy as needed. The current version can always be found at /privacy.
